WhitePages.com has rolled out a new feature that allows users to add their cell phone number to their database.  It is absolutely free vs. paying to be listed in the print white pages or yellow pages. Once added, users can then quickly and easily lookup your number on the site.

I think that those whose livelihood depends on being found (e.g. realtors, contractors, etc…) should be all over this new feature.

One thing that I noticed in my surfing yesterday was that MySpace is now prompting its users to enter their real name (e.g. first name and last name).  I think that this an interesting development as they currently have a search box on top of every page that defaults to people search.

Undoubtedly, they much get a ton of users every day typing in people’s names into that box to try to find another MySpace member.  (See Facebook blog posting Read More »

Why would you want to find classmates? High school may only last four years, but the memories last a lifetime. It would seem as though there is no other period in a person's life that has such lasting impact on the person you become as high school. Then you graduate and real life begins. College, jobs, mortgages and family become your existence and the fun and challenges of high school memories begin to fade. One way to keep the memories fresh and remember the lessons you learned in high school is to do a people search on a site that specializes in helping you find classmates.

Sites designed to ...

You see it in the news all the time. A person that a family trusted to do work in their home as a painter, carpenter, electrician or handyman betrays their trust and returns to rob, kidnap or kill someone in the home. It is absolutely tragic and fortunately somewhat avoidable. It seems that often these criminals had a record before they attacked these innocent families. If the family had done a background check they would certainly have decided against having these perpetrators do work in their homes. There are several ways to conduct your own background search on the internet and sometimes the necessary information can be f ... It wasn’t long ago that people would offer to exchange phone numbers when they met someone interesting that they wanted to have future contact with. Nowadays, you almost never hear people asking for someone’s phone number; they almost always ask for your email address or whether you have a profile on one of the major social networks. For some reason, this seems less intimidating and is easier to remember without searching for a paper and pencil. Even if you forget the email address later, you can always run a quick email search and locate the information later.

In today's fast paced world of modern technology your friends are never more than the press of a button or a keystroke away. Text, IM, email, message boards and cell phones ensure that your friends are always as close at hand as they are to your heart. This was not always the case, however, and in the "old days" moving, changing jobs or going to a new school often resulted in losing contact with your friends. The good news is that the story doesn't have to end there. You can find your old friends again, mend the fences and create new happy memories with the people you care about. Today's technology also allows you to run a classmate search, ... The outcome of this situation is then up to you. Maybe you want to send a letter and say all the things you never got the chance to tell them. Maybe you would like to call them up and ask them out to lunch to catch up on old times. Maybe just having the information is enough to answer the questions you have such as whether they are still alive and where they live. Whichever method you choose, a people search can provide you the information and the choices you need to find the closure you have been looking for all these years. Who knows? Maybe you will even rekindle the old flame.

Sometimes, for reasons unknown to family and friends, an adult decides to just move away and disappear without telling anyone where they have gone. This generally leads to a lot of stress for their family and friends who are left to wonder if they have been kidnapped or even killed. The police will not investigate if there are no signs of foul play and so the family often has little help or resources to find the person. That is, until now. Running a people search on the internet can give valuable clues to finding someone who has been missing for a period of time.

A people search will show any addresses or phone numbers that the person has used over the years.  ...

Genealogy can be fun, rewarding and at times very frustrating. Sometimes things are going along fine, record after record giving you valuable information about your family’s past. Then suddenly you hit a road block when you just can’t find any more information. It can make you feel like there is no hope and nowhere left to turn for information. Running a people search on the web might give new clues and help you find the records you need by getting you in touch with distant relatives who might have the answers you are looking for.

When you perform a reverse phone lookup, the process is really simple. All you need to do is type in the person's phone number and the results including their name and address will be displayed for you. At this point you can even run a map program from there and get directions to their house if you need to in order to complete your surprise, or maybe just copy and paste the address to send them some flowers or print a mailing label to send them a card or letter.

Another great use for reverse phone lookup is checking your phone bill. This is a great way to check th ...
