With the recent turmoil in the financial markets, I think that all of us are looking for a little way to save some money, right?

One great way that I have found is to use the free people search site WhitePages.com instead of calling 411.  This can save you on average of $1.50 per call.  If you are away from your computer, they even have a free mobile version (http://m.whitepages.com) as well as a iphone application. I have used both and they work great.

Would to hear other ways that all of you have saved a bit of your hard earned money.

Some unwanted friends showed up on my doorstep today....Two BIG paper phone books.  Every time these show up, I can't wait to recycle them as they just clutter up the house.  I really can't imagine why anyone with a computer would use an old-school phone book.  It kills trees.  It uses lots of chemicals. It gets your fingers all dirty.  There are so many better ways to conduct people searches and business searches on the Internet today and all for free.

If you want to stop the delivery of your paper phone book, you ... Read More »

Saw this feel good article today about a 13 year old boy using whitepages.com to track down the owner of a class ring that he found on the beach with his metal detector.  I bet the owner was ecstatic to get this keepsake back.

I would wager that there are countless stories like t ... Read More »

Just saw an article the other day about more and more consumers ditching their landline phonesAccording to a report due to be released Wednesday by the National Center for Health Statistics, nearly one out of every six homes in the USA — 15.8% — had only wireless telephones during the second half of 2007, up from 6.1% during the same period in 2004.
