Saw this feel good article today about a 13 year old boy using whitepages.com to track down the owner of a class ring that he found on the beach with his metal detector.  I bet the owner was ecstatic to get this keepsake back.

WhitePages.com has rolled out a new feature that allows users to add their cell phone number to their database.  It is absolutely free vs. paying to be listed in the print white pages or yellow pages. Once added, users can then quickly and easily lookup your number on the site.

I think that those whose livelihood depends on being found (e.g. realtors, contractors, etc…) should be all over this new feature.

One thing that I noticed in my surfing yesterday was that MySpace is now prompting its users to enter their real name (e.g. first name and last name).  I think that this an interesting development as they currently have a search box on top of every page that defaults to people search.
