One thing that I noticed in my surfing yesterday was that MySpace is now prompting its users to enter their real name (e.g. first name and last name).  I think that this an interesting development as they currently have a search box on top of every page that defaults to people search.

Undoubtedly, they much get a ton of users every day typing in people’s names into that box to try to find another MySpace member.  (See Facebook blog posting on number of people searches on their site). The problem is that, to date, most MySpace users don’t use their real name.

It will be very interesting if they get any traction with this new initiative.
