Sometimes, for reasons unknown to family and friends, an adult decides to just move away and disappear without telling anyone where they have gone. This generally leads to a lot of stress for their family and friends who are left to wonder if they have been kidnapped or even killed. The police will not investigate if there are no signs of foul play and so the family often has little help or resources to find the person. That is, until now. Running a people search on the internet can give valuable clues to finding someone who has been missing for a period of time.
A people search will show any addresses or phone numbers that the person has used over the years. This should provide valuable clues to finding a person that has been missing for many years. Assuming they are still using their same name, you should be able to find their current address and if not a current address than at least an address they lived at recently which would give you a place to start and ask questions of neighbors and possibly the landlord. In many cases, the person is found within a very short period of time by doing a people search. This is the same information you would pay a private investigator to find for you at a fraction of the cost.
A good people finder site will allow you to enter as much or as little information as you have about the person, such as name, age, date of birth and even their social security number. You will then be given a preliminary search findings page which may list several people of the same name. You can then compare the various results and see if you have found information that may belong to your missing person. You can then order a complete report and start making phone calls or drive to the location that is listed.
As the police will tell you, people go missing for a variety of reasons. These reasons may not make sense to anyone other than the person who runs away, but their friends and family have a right to know what the reasons are. Even if the person is not interested in returning home and seeing their family and friends, at least you may be able to find out why they left and let them know that they are missed. There is nothing worse than not knowing what happened and a people search may be the key that will lead you to this information and allow you to have some closure in your life.
